Summer Viewing Set to Sizzle

Sport and festive programming will be a feature of summer free-to-air television over the holiday period.  

On Seven, cricket reigns supreme with its blockbuster Summer of Cricket. Viewers can watch the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Big Bash League, and Women’s Ashes Series live and free on Seven and streaming on 7plus Sport. And, Seven has brought together the biggest and best names in world cricket for its commentary team, led by the most famous name in Indian cricket, Sunil Gavaskar. 

For a heartwarming and joyous Christmas celebration, families can enjoy Carols in the Domain, airing live on Saturday, December 21.  

Looking ahead to January, much-loved Home and Away returns with a new season starting Monday, January 13 picking up right where the nail-biting season final left off. 

Nine will deliver festive cheer and sporting excellence this summer. Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight, airing live on Christmas Eve, is a much-loved Christmas event offering audiences a magical night of music and entertainment. Hosted by David Campbell and Sarah Abo, the event supports children with low vision and will light up Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl from 8:00 pm on Channel 9 and 9Now. 

For a comedic twist during the holidays, The Hundred with Andy Lee – Christmas, is back in December. Andy Lee and his panel, including Sophie Monk and Dave Hughes, will explore Australia’s festive quirks with 100 everyday Aussies. 

Sports fans can look forward to the Summer of Tennis, featuring the Australian Open, United Cup, Brisbane International, and Adelaide International with exclusive coverage on Nine and 9Now.  

Adding to the festive line-up, Christmas with the Australian Women’s Weekly airs on December 10th on Ten and 10Play. Hosted by Sarah Harris, the holiday season special features a MasterChef Australia reunion, exclusive recipes, and holiday tips.  

Sports lovers can enjoy comprehensive A-League coverage with live Ninja Women’s A-League matches on 10 Play and men’s Saturday matches on 10 Bold. New shows including Football Tonight and The Weekly Kick Off round out the summer lineup celebrating Australian’s growing passion for football.
